The pedestal is well made and looks great.  I used it for an aoudad ewe and did not need the 12" of distance between the base and faceplate.  It was simple enough to reduce the length of the spacer.  The use of machine screw inserts is innovative and superior to pedestals sold by the big name taxidermy companies.
